  After a completely fabricated alegation, Cristine Beckwith heard our case and assured us that she had the skill and knowledge to represent us going forward. Upon accepting our case she charged us $20k and assigned a co-counsel who had no experience with a severe, complex case like ours. We found this out after the fact. Later, Cristine charged us even more money to hire an investigator who actually conducted interviews with most of the witnesses. After two years of continuances in our case, Cristine told us she had a plea deal and it was the best we would receive from the prosecutor. We told her that we had confidence in our case and wanted her to go forward and represent us at trial, as per our signed contract. Cristine reiterated that a plea was the best we could expect. She later called us to her office and told us she could no longer represent us and introduced us to another attorney in a different firm, requiring and additional $10k. Cristine returned only $5k of her original fee when she "couldn't" continue. We went to trial with the new attorney's representation and were acquitted. Cristine's legal representation was no more than we could have easily received from a public defender.
